A New Phase
Just thought I’d give you a quick update on the happenings in the Drury fam.
Mom was down in Tucson yesterday to start round 1 of the 12 month maintenance program. It turns out that she will be receiving the same amount of Taxol through the IV as she had been for the last 6 months, and not a lower dose as we had previously understood. This will still be a far easier form of treatment because the two IP days (which were by far the worst) have been eliminated.
The traveling trio, Mom, Nicole and Chloe, hoped on a flight this am to Des Moines. Nicole and Chloe are meeting up with Billy who has been invited to attend an event honoring Dr. Tom Davis (former Iowa and Drake basketball coach). Mom is meeting up with Little Billie whose sorority is hosting “Mom’s weekend.” Those of us left behind to work or study (Dad is preparing for trial, I’m studying for finals, and of course Dani and Pete are hard at work as always) are jealous we aren’t in Des Moines too, seeing the family and friends we miss so much. Although, I’m especially happy for Billie because this is Mom’s first trip back this school year – normally by now she would have been there a handful of times.
For those of you who are able to make it next week to Mom’s “remission party” – we look forward to seeing you! It should be a great time. If you talk to Mom, don’t worry about keeping it a secret any more, she knows. Dad thought it was best not to surprise her so we let the cat out of the bag. She’s really excited! If you plan to join us but haven’t RSVP’d please copy and paste the think below to do so.
Thanks!
Michelle
