Just a little update…

Hi all!

Not too much has been going on around here lately but the blog was looking a little sad so I thought I’d contribute.

The Race for the Cure was very cool. I couldn’t believe how many people were there! Here is my one grievance: breast cancer has done an OUTSTANDING job of raising awareness and money for research…while I absolutely believe that campaign should continue, it is about time that the umbrella be opened to the other gynecological cancers. Ovarian cancer is the “ugly step-sister” to breast cancer. What most people don’t know is that breast and ovarian cancers are often related and many women face both. It would be great to raise awareness for both (and perhaps include uterine and cervical) in one campaign. I believe it is about women – all women – and raising awareness about all the potential dangers which could be lurking. As my Mom said the other day, she checked her breasts monthly for years but didn’t know anything about ovarian cancer until the day she was told she had it. It’s time to change that.

Okay, I’m off my soap box now.

We have all been busy lately. Billy and Nicole have been traveling and the rest of us have had a ton of fun playing babysitter in the mean time! Chloe is walking even though she’s only 10 months so we really have to be on our toes. I can’t believe how quickly she’s growing up!

Little Billie is home for fall break and it makes me sad she isn’t here all the time! We miss her when she is gone. 🙂

All the rest of us are dong well and just plugging along with school, work, tests, etc.
