The feeling from Scott is mutual.

“It is such a thrill and honor to be partnering with Colleen’s Dream for our Kendra Gives Back Party this month,” says Scott. “The organization supports a truly incredible and relevant cause: supporting research for ovarian cancer, and is inspired by a truly remarkable woman diagnosed with this disease.”

The Kendra Scott Gives Back Party, which will include champagne, cupcakes and live music, will be held at the Kendra Scott Scottsdale Quarter location in Scottsdale, AZ. Twenty percent of all sales will go to support the efforts of Colleen’s Dream Foundation.

Colleen’s Dream Foundation, inspired by Colleen Drury, started in 2012 and supports research for early detection of, improved treatment for, and education about, ovarian cancer. Colleen’s Dream is currently creating relationships with some of the top research hospitals and universities in the world, and will provide seed funding to some of the world’s brightest young investigators researching ovarian cancer.

Nicole Drury Cundiff is one of Colleen Drury’s four daughters.

“We love what Kendra stands for,” says Cundiff. “Her focus on fashion, family, and philanthropy closely mirrors our own passions. We appreciate Kendra’s support and look forward to building a relationship with this amazing woman and her organization.”

Scott knows how cancer can impact a family. She also knows the importance of ‘giving back.’
When Scott first moved to Austin at the age of nineteen, she started her first fashion company, a small hat store in the mall called “Hat Box.” Scott designed hats for people undergoing chemotherapy to be “comfortable but stylish.” A portion of the sales went to cancer research in memory of Scott’s stepfather, who died of brain cancer.

In 2002, with just $500, Scott launched a mini jewelry collection. Today, Kendra Scott Jewelry is a global multimillion-dollar brand sold at renowned retailers like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Lord and Taylor, Henri Bendel and over a thousand specialty boutiques worldwide.

As the Kendra Scott brand continues to expand, Scott remains committed to the company’s founding philosophies, “Family, Fashion & Philanthropy,” which have helped direct its course.

As a mother and business woman, Kendra’s “family first” mantra continues to be a core value for Kendra and her company. Philanthropy is also a driving force for this fashion-forward and savvy entrepreneur, which is what brought her to Colleen’s Dream Foundation.

“Having lost my stepfather to cancer, this cause is very near to my heart, and having several friends diagnosed with cancer, I know how cancer can affect an entire family,” says Scott. “Ovarian cancer is known as the “silent killer,” and there is a huge need for support and awareness about early detection and improved treatment of ovarian cancer. I am so thankful for organizations like Colleen’s Dream for their commitment to this cause.”
