Aloha!!!
Things have been very busy for the Drury family. I know Mom wanted to blog but she ran out of time. She is in Tucson today with Michelle for chemo. Her CA 125 is 14…still great! Life is slowly getting back to “normal.” She is starting to go back to work and has been busy celebrating BOTH of her parents birthdays!!
Here is a family update to give you a sense of our next few months!
Little Billie is in Europe for the summer. She is traveling to different countries and is taking classes in Florence. Mom, Dad, Michelle, Pete, Danielle, and some dear friends leave next week for a 7 day rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. Billy and I so wish we could go but we cannot take Chloe until she is 8 years old. After leaving her to go to Hawaii for 2 days in February, I am just not sure I can do it for 8 days! Especially since they will have no forms of communication from the canyon. However, mom, dad, Danielle, Chloe, Billy and I are going back to Hawaii in a couple weeks. We are going to stay with our sweet friend Nikki, visit the property my parents are buying, and spend some time with dad’s cousins who live in Waimea. It will be nice to get out of the heat again. In the meantime, Chloe and I are heading to Kansas City to visit Billy again. Also, Danielle graduates from pharmacy school on Friday!! YAHOOOO!
As mom said, Atlanta was wonderful! We had such a great time. Before Carlos’ game, we went to dinner with my friends Michael and Devin Koenan. Michael is the punter for the Falcons and we told him about what Carlos has been doing for ovarian cancer. It happens that Devin’s aunt passed away from ovarian cancer and it is a cause they really care about. Before the game, mom, Michelle and I had agreed to work the “Kicking for Cure” booth and pass out t-shirts and bracelets to fans at the game. Michael was so generous in volunteering his time to sit at our booth and sign autographs! We had record t-shirt sales because of him! The fans were so excited to meet him!! Another fabulous part of the night was Carlos having a perfect game in addition to his game-winning extra point! WE ARE SO PROUD! Thank you to Carlos, Michael, Devin, and the Ovarian Cancer Institute for your generosity!!! We are so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people!
I hope all is well and that you are enjoying the beginning of summer!
Love,
Nicole
