Blog is Back!

I know a lot of you have been confused by the absence of the blog. We are pleased to announce, the blog is back! All of you have been so wonderful and supportive and we don’t want to leave you hanging. Therefore, I will update you on mom’s health status…which is the reason you visit this blog anyway!

Here goes the update: 4 weeks ago, mom went in for her routine visit with Dr. Chambers. Dr. Chambers informed her that her CA 125 had risen to 23 (concerning because it was up from an average of 13-15). Dr. Chambers told mom to get retested in 4 weeks, which she did this week. Her current CA 125 is 36…so, her numbers are doubling, which means she is experiencing a recurrence of the ovarian cancer (which happens to 85-95% of Stage 3c patients). Mom will be having a CT Scan done this afternoon at St. Joe’s and will see Dr. Chambers next Friday. It is likely she will either have surgery, chemo or both.

In the meantime, mom is going to take the next week to get out of Arizona and have some fun. She and Michelle are going to New York City to see the US Open, Michael Franti and Hair. They are both very excited! In addition, we are planning on taking mom to Ireland in October! Good thing Chloe has a passport….now if little Billie will just get her’s expedited!

We would all appreciate prayers for our mom at this time. She has been going through a lot lately and needs you support.
