The Garden Island has become the Scary Island….

Mom has been admitted to the ER in Kauai with a possible pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs.) She has been short of breath the last few days and the pain has transferred from her right side to her left side. Nicole and Billy’s friends Eric and Fawn Hannun were kind enough to direct us to an amazing hospital with a wonderful staff here in Kauai. Mom lab results returned with a D-dimer of 3 (normal = 0.2) which is indicative of a PE. We are currently waiting for the results of her CT scan so we can develop a plan of action. We promise to keep everyone posted as we learn more.
