Still in Tucson….

Hi all –

Mom and Billie headed down to Tucson on Wednesday to begin Round 4 of her IP chemo. Mom met with Dr. Chambers and had the opportunity to talk about the chemo plan. Here is what we know for sure – Mom will finish all 6 series, ending mid-to-end March. At that point she will undergo a CT-Scan to determine what will happen next. If things look crystal clear and her CA-125 tests are normal – she may be set loose. However, there is a possibility she might have to continue with IV chemo for some time after. So, in the mean time, we cheer Mom on as she completes this chemo regimen!

A short time after she met with Dr. Chambers, Mom and Billie learned that the infusion center was too far behind to administer her IV Taxol and that they would have to push “day 1” back until Thursday. That being said, her whole treatment schedule is now a day behind and she is still in Tucson.

Little Billie headed back to Phoenix to attend the Drake event this evening at the Heard Museum so she could see her advisor who is only in town tonight. Although I am bummed to miss the event this evening, I drove down to replace Billie knowing I could see the Drake people I was looking forward to seeing tomorrow night at Mom and Dad’s house.

Mom is doing great today after receiving her IP cisplatin – although a little full because the drugs fill up her belly. This is the drug that fights really hard to make her sick so the hydration tomorrow morning is critical. Tomorrow night she will camp out at Grandma’s with baby Chloe during the party.

I am sure you will hear from Mom when she is back on her feet in a few days.
